Why We Switched to Human-Grade Ingredients
September 15, 2026 · The Wag & Willow Family
From our kitchen to your pup's bowl
When we started Wag & Willow, we had one simple question: why wouldn't we feed our dogs the same quality of food we'd feed our own family?
The answer, we discovered, was that we could — we just had to choose to.
What "human grade" really means
Human-grade ingredients are exactly what they sound like: ingredients fit for human consumption. Not feed-grade. Not by-products. Real, whole, recognizable food.
- Lean meats sourced from the same suppliers you'd trust for your own dinner
- Fresh vegetables — never dehydrated or powdered into oblivion
- Whole grains like brown rice and oats, cooked slow and low
The difference you can see
Within weeks of switching, our own dogs had shinier coats, smaller and less frequent stools, and an energy that felt younger. That's not magic — it's nutrition.
We don't believe in shortcuts. Real food takes time, and your pup deserves that time.
Every batch is made fresh, in small quantities, by people who care. That's the whole promise.
